Kuala Lumpur Day 2

Random temple we wandered into

Resting at the train station

Petronas Tower

Unfortunately, Day 2 was a very lazy day for us. We were very lethargic and only managed to visit a few places. One good thing however, was that we walked aimlessly and wandered into a beautiful Hindu temple. There, we witnessed for the first time, a traditional Indian wedding. It left a deep impression in us.

We also met two backpackers outside our guesthouse, Central Lodge. They were Xaviery/Savioury/Savory (I really don't know how to spell his name) from Finland. Before we left for Butterworth, we met Nadia from Germany, a very sweet and nice lady.

Beautiful view from the train

We reached Butterworth!

The train ride to Butterworth was COLD. Like, very very COLD. A little incident happened, where my bottle dropped off onto the train tracks. Next thing I knew, Simon was running out of the train, dived under the train tracks and retrieved my bottle. He returned in one piece, thank god!

Kuala Lumpur Day 1

From Left: Me, Ashikin, Faris

Don't mind the blur photo. This was taken at the back of a completely dark and illegal mini van. Faris and his fiancĂ© Ashikin brought me into Johor Malaysia safely and on time for my 4 hour bus ride to Kuala Lumpur.
Thank you both!

Best Beef Noodles!

Lai Fong - Pasar Seni Monorail Station

Although Simon and I know nothing about beef noodles, it was extremely enjoyable to have our breakfast in Kuala Lumpur at this particular food place by the streets. We had fun trying to guess a particular ingredient and watching the preparations of the food.

On the Monorail

If there's one big advice I can give to you if you want to travel to Malaysia, it'll be: Stay away from the Taxis and take the Monorails!
Taxis in Malaysia are known to refuse to turn on their meter and might charge you for a higher price. Besides, it's nice to be able to rely on your boyfriend's street smarts to get to places. I am geographically challenged and I cannot express how much I appreciate having someone I can trust who would bring us back to the guesthouse safely.

Living Statues

Live Graffiti

After visiting the Textiles Museum, we strolled along Jalan Tar, near Merdeka Square. The weather was wonderful and there were many people dressed for a religious event. There were balloons, bicycle stuntmen, living statues and live graffiti makers. The streets are filled with street food and shops selling little trinkets. A very lively atmosphere to take a walk in.

Cu Cha Restaurant

Here is where we had dinner. Here is also where we had the best stingray I've ever had in my life! It was very difficult to choose a store to eat from as the whole stretch of road is filled with stores selling good food. It was a very good night to chill and the long and tiring travel back was absolutely worth it.

Backpacking in Kuala Lumpur and Penang: Packing

Laying everything out

Packed!

I'll be spending 5 days packing in Kuala Lumpur and Penang and I'm really excited! I will try to get as many pictures as I can for the blog. Here's where I should apologise for not blogging for so long, but exams and projects really took up too much time.

For a list of what I packed, click here.

Time to leave the house. Toodles!

Song Covers

I did some covers over the past few months and decided that since I didn't have outfit photos, I'll post videos instead. Enjoy!
