A Jumper Christmas

Jumper: Vintage
Belt: Vintage
Shoes: Suede pumps
Bag: ST-LOUIS

This year's Christmas was spent picking my mom up from the airport. She just returned from Korea and I must go and dig for goodies soon! We went down to Orchard to see the Christmas lights and to buy Candi some decent shoes. Donated $10 to a charity for children in Asia, which is very out of character for me, but all in the name of Christmas aye? More controversial talks during dinner. I seem to love talking about the craziest topics ever! I couldn't find a bandeau or tube top so in a flash of genius, I wore a printed sports bra instead. I hope everyone had a good holiday!

I really want some turkey. Like, really badly!

Adventure

Top: Thrifted
Bottom: Opaque Tights
Shoes: Black Fur-Lined Boots
Bag: ST.LOUIS

A few days before Christmas, Simon and I had a little exploring. What was initially a photography trip became a full blown adventure. We started mindlessly strolling from Chinatown, walked past Bugis, strolled along Clark Quay, had some Turkish Ice-Cream and ended up at Dhoby Ghaut. We discovered an art gallery, "Eagle's Eye Art Gallery", found our way to Singapore's Arts Museum accidentally and discovered a wonderful shop, "Super Mama", where I got an awesome little book filled with places in Singapore to find.
We found ourselves in a restaurant called "Baja Fresh" where we had mexican food that none of us could finish. Towards the end of the night, we chatted about controversial topics, watched a man in china being chomped in the public train. Watching Joseph Kittinger's skydive was the perfect end to the best adventure I've ever had.

Settle Down

Settle Down

Sheer top / Object Collectors Item asymmetrical top, $66 / Eyeshadow sequin top / ASOS high rise legging / Yves Saint Laurent wedge bootie / Gold plated jewelry / Alexander McQueen coin jewelry / Stud earrings

Kimbra's Settle Down has been on repeat for several days now. Just when I though I was in for an inspiration-less week, I decided a song is as good as any inspiration. This look is based on the colours Oxblood and Teal and also a striped leggings that Kimbra wore on my favourite live performance she did at the Spotify House.

Peacock Skirt with Oil Pastels

Today, I decided to open my new 48 colours Oil Pastels and play with it. The skirt was inspired by peacocks I saw as I lounge in the pool at The Sentosa Spa & Resort. Having had no real experience with art, I'm proud that my illustration wasn't a disaster. I will keep learning and improving!

Birthday Barbecue

The Birthday Girl, Joey!

My girlfriend, Priya!

One of my closest friends, Vanessa!

Top: EBASE knitted halter
Bottom: Vintage satin shorts

We had such a great time with our under-condominium barbecue! As you can see, I'm not the birthday girl but I'm super happy! In fact, my bunch of crazy Junior College friends are the only ones I've spent the most times with, all of which I loved. Really looking forward to the next gathering!

Short Hair!

Top: Vintage Grandma shirt, thrifted.
Bottom: Vintage denim
Hair: New!!

So here's my hair when my extensions are taken off.

And me just being silly.

The stylist cut my hair into a bob to prep for precision trimming.

You can see the shape now!

I look extremely happy because I don't look bad with short hair!

Styling my hair curly, just the way I requested!

I'm super satisfied with my hair!

End look with one side sleeked back.

I had my extensions cut off by my sister, who got frustrated and cut off quite a few lumps of my hair. It was annoying but it didn't really matter to me since I wanted to get my hair cut short again for awhile now. So I managed to get the "Okay" from my mother (which was really just an exasperated "FINE. You look better with long hair but you won't listen to me anyway and I don't have a say since I'm in Korea right now…") and I went to Kimage at Jurong Point to get my hair cut!

I've been to Kimage before and I've had a good experience, so I called them up before I left home. My previous stylist, Jason, wasn't around so I wounded up with a new stylist, Fanny Chin. She is FANTASTIC! She made sure I was comfortable with chopping off a considerable length and was very certain of what I wanted before proceeding. She was also one of the few stylist I've ever encountered in my life who managed to produce satisfying results that actually made me giggle with joy.

Now, I have really short hair that I can style and I can't wait to show my friends my new hair at tonight's barbecue party for Joey's birthday! They're going to be SOOOOO surprised!

Fide Fashion Week: Haute Couture Week (Part 7)

On Aura Tout Vu

Three cheers for more lace and sheer fabric! It's a really exciting experience when you get the chance to see the designers who have had their worn by Lady GaGa herself! That either means they are very creative, crazy or completely out of this world. Whichever it is, I LOVE IT!
The designers behind On Aura Tout Vu are Yassen Samouilov  and Livia Stoianova. I randomly asked a guy for the correct pronunciation for On Aura Tout Vu and that guy turned out to be Yassen himself! I don't know whether to be embarrassed or grateful for the luck. I'd choose the second!
I love the outrageousness of the designs but I don't think Lady GaGa would wear any of these: It's too Couture I feel.

Fide Fashion Week: Haute Couture Week (Part 6)

Alexis Mabille

Alexis Mabille's collection was one that I had looked forward to the most in Haute Couture Week. Instead of a noble reason like "I know this designer!", my reason was quite silly. I saw a beautiful sequined gown with a big black bow sewn onto the right shoulder and I fell in love. I didn't know Alexis Mabille until I read the information board beside the gorgeous dress!
(Guilty)
Well, Alexis Mabille didn't disappoint! His collection has everything I love:
Lace
Texture
Details
Sequins
Fur
Satin
More…
Of course, he had to make his models look like renditions of Greek Goddesses. He definitely made this collection for me. Definitely.
I mean, just look at that lace suit in the first picture!
JUST LOOK AT IT!
