Maurizio Galante
I've got to admit: I'M IN LOVE WITH LACE! I LOVE LACE SO MUCH!! I love it not only because it's pretty (duh…) but also because it's so SO complicated to make, especially when it's hand sewn. Galante's collection was very heavy on corbeille effect, authentic lace hand picked from Venice and a lot of geometrical motifs. To be honest, I really just picked out those words from the information sheet provided at the fashion show. Yup, I'm busting myself.
Even if you don't know the technical part of fashion, there's no reason for that to be a barrier to enjoy it. I see a phenomenal piece of work created by hard work and passion and I'll be the most idiotic person in the world if I'm going to let that be an obstruction to me appreciating a work of art.
Enjoy looking at the dresses first. Research on them later.
On a side note, the last dress has an almost comical appearance of a foam fruit net. It looks like it's wrapping a rotten banana. If it had some sort of variation that makes it look less…wrap like (for lack of better expression) maybe I'd like it more. Right now, however, it looks like a complete Haute Couture disaster.
(facepalm)
